I wrote earlier about the best snack in Austria and found out that there is a second best one that got deliverd by mail (real mail)! It’s called SnackPack and comes in this little cartboard box. You can choose out of many different variations or order specificly what you like! There are also Vegan variations available! Love it!

The Pure Living Bakery in Vienna’s 13th district Hietzing offers great British charm, combined with a relaxed atmosphere. It’s located in Hietzing’s oldest part Altgasse where only 1-2 floor high buildings frame the area. In summer, people can enjoy their garden which considering the weather we couldn’t. They serve everything from chai to yogi tea, coffee and smoothies. All drinks are also served with soy milk and suitable snacks for vegans are available. Sadly, they don’t have vegan sweets, there’s not enough demand for them. But we’ll just keep coming back and ask for more.

All together a place where time flows by and one can relax and have a nice sunday afternoon chat.

so what can we do about it? there are many daylight lamps out and we also have one. it’s a fantstic thing and really works (at least for me and my gorgeousness, they cost from 70-250 euro and come in various kinds. we haven’t tried the one that wakes you up like an alarm clock, yet. it simulates the sunrise, must be nice to have your little sunshine not only next to you in bed, but waking you up in the morning.

the easiest way to keep your mood up and make yourself feel a little better is to lit a candle. simple, “green” and cosy. scandinavian countries are well known for their burning of candles and it’s also well known that they need it like air! winters are long and dark, sunshine is rare and sometimes the warm light of candles keeps your mood up the whole winter!

so go and get some candles and put them where you work, where you eat and read and ….
but as always please get some organic, eco-friendly ones, because if we produce co2 we should at least make sure that the material came from the right sources.

Now after a week of deactivating my facebook account I have the feeling I am left out in the cold. But it’s not that people are not interested in corresponding. It’s just the way facebook works. It’s a total show of without dedication.

A while ago I registered at the g-living homepage (my page on g-living). It’s a platform for stylish vegetarian people who are willing to share eco-veggy-design, food and so on. It’s worth checking out. Don’t know yet if it will be my facebook but at least it’s more distinct.

It’s autumn in Vienna now. Not only that led me to a fantastic new purchase! I’ve bought my first stylish vegan shoes. They are from vegetarian shoes UK, made in Portugal out of “super soft-to-touch breathable fake-suede microfiber”The material not only looks like leather but is also softer and feels great!!!

It’s been a while since my last posts and I am having a hard time to keep up with my web 2.0 duties.  A lot changed since the last updates. jen and I got married in the wonderful setting of a winery and a castle close to the Danube north of Vienna. the weather didn’t go with us but still it was a wonderful day. we had a vegetarian wedding which did bring some anger from relatives. the dinner though was fantastic and the wine just added up to a wonderful night. we ate, prayed, played, danced and drunk until the end of the night and everything just went perfectly well.
A vegetarian wedding quite a revelry still in Austria. It was great.  5 course dinner and a magnificent cake in the end. everything was wonderfully framed by the most professional photographers I got to know yet. I often heard people saying that it’s supposed to be the happiest day in their life. I would just say the same.

Before the wedding we went through a moving process [again]. we moved from Zürich (where we used to live since 2010) to Vienna where I grew up. It’s like moving back home. I  gave up my old job (that I didn’t really like) we gave up a beautiful but horrible expensive apartment in Zürich Seefeld. Moving also creates a huge gap. An emptiness that will never be filled. “You’ll move on” people say but do you really. You do literally but some part of yours stay there. At certain corners with certain people with certain moments. Besides the avalanche of organization the emotions usually stay behind. It all follows until the moments like now when you have the time to remember.

After the moving and the wedding we also had a great honeymoon trip to Ireland.

Now we’re back in Vienna since about a month living in my mother’s flat and started to renovate my old roof top apartment. Like everything we are looking for natural and environmental friendly solutions. Finding natural paint for walls and windows. Researching for environmental friendly oil & glue for the wooden floor. Most of the work from sanding the wooden window frames to recycling the old floor and the wallpapers. It’s always the manual work that satisfies me the most as it is to see the finished beautiful painted walls or windows. Although we are far (2-3 weeks) from moving in it’s getting there.

In the mean time I dug into the hardest job, to find a new job.  well……

q: I hear you are vegan now.
a: Yeah, it’s been eight month with this vegan stuff, but I get these explosions of energy. I don´t know how long it last, but they’re like explosions. So powerful

q:Is it calmer energy?
a:  Oh, I don’t know if I’d go that far. I don’t think it’s been long enough for that kind of Zen shit.
